Job Summary
Label tubes, cassettes, and materials for functions based on study files; assist in preparing and reviewing files for In Vivo studies. Record tube and material information into study files using Excel. Prepare buffer solutions, fixatives, and dosing solutions; perform general laboratory cleaning, organization, and maintenance. Monitor inventory levels, order stock, and identify new or replacement products as requested. Assist with cage washing, filling, and cleaning; sort and weigh samples; prepare dosing syringes; and update animal information based on study design. Communicate with study leads and teammates to problem solve study needs. May train other Assistants and peers. This role is onsite 5 days a week in San Diego. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to quality care of laboratory animals and have knowledge of In Vivo procedures and practices.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs (i.e. Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to changes in priority and/or studies
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Knowledge of In Vivo procedures and practices
- This role is onsite 5 days a week in San Diego
- Candidates must have current, valid authorization to work in the country where this role is located
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree & some relevant experience (or High School Diploma & 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting)
- Background in animal husbandry, restraint and handling
- Must demonstrate a commitment to quality care of laboratory animals
