Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Job Summary

Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house zones to maintain cleanliness standards. Supervise housekeeping staff by assigning tasks, providing training, coaching, and delivering performance feedback. Monitor the deep cleaning program, manage inventory, issue supplies, and control expenses while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Resolve guest inquiries, assist with special requests, and address disciplinary or termination matters as needed. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • Ability to lead by example

  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Computer literacy in Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of a hotel rooms management system (e.g., Alice, Opera Cloud)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relationships with team members and guests
  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
  • Strong networking skill
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly

  • Ability to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses
  • Ability to log items into the Lost and Found
  • Ability to answer inquiries
  • Ability to respond to guest questions
  • Ability to provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested
