Job Summary
Assistant Histology Technician to support the Histology Team in Maryland Heights, MO. Responsibilities include organizing data packages and study tracking, pulling slides and preparing materials for peer reviews, documenting activities for compliance, operating and maintaining histology equipment (slide stainer, coverslipper, tissue processors), preparing blocks/slides/tissues for archive, handling histology materials and inventories, labeling and packaging, maintaining logs and logs for reagents, assisting with hazardous waste management, and adhering to safety and company policies. Requires ability to read and interpret test results and SOPs, maintain confidentiality, and communicate professionally; English proficiency and basic MS Office experience expected. The role may involve variable levels of education/experience with salary commensurate to experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Lab experience preferred
- Ability to read/write/speak English
- Ability to follow SOPs and laboratory procedures
- Ability to work with hazardous materials and PPE
- Effective communication and organizational skills
