Job Summary
Assistant High School Girls Swim Coach directs/assists in directing the girls swim program at the high school level, implementing coaching philosophies, instructing participants in individual, group and team techniques, tactics and training, and fostering ethical competition, leadership, and citizenship. Responsibilities include communicating a defined philosophy to students, parents, staff, and community; utilizing coaching techniques for skill development and strategy; promoting high performance expectations for players and coaches; supporting off-season strength, conditioning and skills development; and coordinating with District Athletic Director, Head Coach, Building Principal and HR. Required qualifications include a teaching certificate (preferred), high school diploma or GED, verified coaching techniques experience, WIAA certification/compliance, First Aid/CPR knowledge, and ongoing professional development via coaching education courses. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, organization, effective communication, positive role modeling, and adherence to district and WIAA policies.
Required Qualifications
- Teaching certificate and experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- WIAA certification and compliance with WIAA and district rules and regulations
- Must meet the age requirements of WIAA applicable to this position
- Continuous training standard requires coaching education courses
- First Aid/CPR cards
