Assistant Head Golf Mechanic

Job Summary
Assist in leading and performing maintenance and repair of golf course equipment as part of the Equipment Manager’s team. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered equipment, daily setup of machinery, preventative maintenance, oil changes, blade sharpening, lubrication, filter replacements, safety adherence, tool control, inventory support, and mentoring/leading technicians. Requires communication with supervisors and staff, ability to train crew on operating maintenance equipment, and a focus on quality of cut and safe work practices to support playability and course conditions. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a basic understanding of golf course maintenance and equipment, with EMCP Level 1 and 2 completion and the willingness to take on additional responsibilities as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of EMCP Level 1 and 2
- Must be willing to take on more responsibilities as the Equipment Manager, Superintendent and/or Director of Golf Maintenance and Landscape sees fit
- Must have a complete understanding of the role and its place and importance in the success of the team
- Must want to be a leader
- Must be interested in mentoring and growing the technician team where applicable
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Basic understanding of the game of golf and the effects this position has on the overall condition and playability of the game
- The ability to communicate on a professional level with staff, vendors, members, and guests daily
- Working knowledge of turf and landscape equipment functions, systems, and safety
