Job Summary
Assist experienced Growers in producing healthy greenhouse crops by managing watering, fertilization, environmental control, and crop protection applications. Identify and address insect, disease, and nutrient issues while learning all duties involved in crop production and greenhouse operation. Provide work direction to lower classifications and operate motorized equipment according to set standards. Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently, and work rotating weekend shifts during peak times.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one season of greenhouse production experience
- Must be able and willing to obtain chemical applicators license if necessary
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to operate motorized equipment according to set standards
- Must be able to perform physical work including moving and/or lifting up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
- Must be able to move and/or lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis from ground level up to 5 ½ feet
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Work rotating weekend shift
