Job Summary
Assume leadership of the teaching team in the absence of the Group Supervisor and take accountability for all aspects of the total room functioning. Assist with program planning, participate in all phases of the daily program, and help prepare materials while using children's rest time for record keeping and mending. Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times to ensure their safety in the classroom, playground, and during field trips. Interact with parents to help provide a trusting atmosphere, attend parent meetings, and promote active recruitment of children for the center.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma
- CDA
- 2 years work experience with young children
- Must be able to maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times
- Must be able to communicate with parents and young children
- Must be able to climb, stoop, crawl, kneel and bend
- Must be able to lift young children and move child-size furniture
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma with an Infant/Toddler CDA
- 15 hours credit in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field from an accredited college or university
- one year of work experience related to the care and development of young children
