Assistant Group Leader – Extended Learning

Job Summary
Conduct extended learning sessions for Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade scholars, providing targeted academic support in math, literacy, science, and social studies while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment. Manage transitions, supervise breaks, and ensure the well-being of all students during on-site hours from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM and/or after school. Deliver hands-on activities and project-based learning to reinforce classroom instruction, while accurately recording scholar performance, attendance, and behavior. Complete quarterly evaluations covering scholar interaction, behavior management, safety, and activity planning. Participate in professional development and coaching to enhance teaching practices. This part-time, 10-month exempt role includes full-time summer programming opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age or older
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- 6 months of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15)
- Must meet OSSE state childcare licensing requirements
- Clear a Child Protection Registry check
- Clear a drug screen
- Ability to actively supervise scholars
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed
- Must be on site outside of regular school hours
- Must be available for 6:30 AM- 8:00 AM AND/OR Mon.-Fri., 3:30 PM- 6:00 PM Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri, 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Wednesdays
- Must be available for full-time work during the months of June-August
