Job Summary
Assist the Head Grounds Mechanic with preventive maintenance and daily servicing of turf equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and small engine gear. Perform basic troubleshooting, inspections, lubrication, blade adjustments, oil changes, tire repairs, and routine maintenance tasks while diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues. Maintain shop cleanliness, organize parts inventory, and support equipment setup for daily trainings, tournaments, and special events. Work collaboratively to prioritize needs, minimize downtime, and respond promptly to equipment-related issues during operations. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records while following all safety standards and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various physical positions for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by training and event schedules.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic mechanical experience with turf, landscape, agricultural, or automotive equipment preferred.
- Working knowledge of small engines, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and power equipment preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong work ethic with willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- General knowledge of soccer.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to connect 'micro' details to the 'macro' vision and mission.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Technical or vocational training in mechanics or equipment maintenance is a plus.
