Job Summary
Manage and lead the busiest grocery team by coordinating merchandising, sales planning, and goal setting to maximize productivity and profit. Assist the Grocery Manager in ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and hiring while training staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Execute all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, validate team compliance, and handle physical demands including unloading deliveries and lifting heavy milk trays and boxes. Work a flexible schedule covering nights, weekends, and holidays, prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment focused on helping customers make healthy food choices.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- 1-3 years retail management experience
- Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays
- Walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours
- Strong good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to take and give direction
- Ability to participate in a team environment
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude
- Ability to interact with customers
- Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff
- Working knowledge of personnel reports

- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Must vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs., from 9" to 62", for up to 25 hours
- Must vertically/horizontally transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs., from 5" to 34", for a distance up to 5 feet for up to 25 hours without mechanical assistance
- Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours is expected
