Job Summary
Manage and lead one of the busiest grocery teams by assisting the Grocery Manager in merchandising for maximum productivity and profit. Coordinate ongoing planning, direction, and goal setting to drive sales and margin while overseeing inventory controls, product quality, and store deliveries. Assist in hiring, training, and developing staff to deliver exceptional customer service and brainstorm strategies for the finest product quality. Ensure strict execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines across the department.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- 1-3 years retail management experience
- Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays
- Walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours
- Strong good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to take and give direction
- Ability to participate in a team environment
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude
- Ability to interact with customers
- Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff
- Working knowledge of personnel reports
- Working knowledge of margin reports
- Working knowledge of weekly sales numbers

- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Must vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs., from 9" to 62", for up to 25 hours
- Must vertically/horizontally transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs., from 5" to 34", for a distance up to 5 feet for up to 25 hours without mechanical assistance
- Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours
