Job Summary

Assist the Superintendent in organizing and directing maintenance across all course areas per technical specifications, supervising equipment operation and repair, and managing supplies. Lead maintenance employees through interviews, hiring, training, and discipline while ensuring compliance with regulations, the BrightView Safety Program, and BV3060 Management protocols. Respond quickly to situations, maintain contact with key staff, and represent the company professionally to meet customer expectations. Prepare the course for play according to golf rules and evaluate it from a player's perspective. Requires a state-sanctioned pesticide applicator license within six months and familiarity with irrigation and soil conditioning.

Required Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a state-sanctioned pesticide applicator license within 6 months of entry into this job
  • Aptitude for administrative and executive responsibilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of walking, standing, and kneeling
  • Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in golf course management and turf culture
  • An awareness of the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
  • A degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil science
  • Knowledge of irrigation, including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and automatic controls and drainage
