Job Summary
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent collaborates with the Superintendent in managing the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. Responsibilities include supervising maintenance staff, planning and directing maintenance and construction on the course, managing turf grass planting, maintaining construction equipment, procuring supplies, and ensuring budget compliance. Key skills include strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with basic computer proficiency. The position requires a minimum of 2 years experience, turf grass management knowledge, and a passion for the golf business.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years minimum experience
- 1-3 years turf grass management
- Knowledge of budgeting and expense management
- Must possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel
- Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
- Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
- Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Must Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Pesticide license preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- A four-year college degree preferred
- GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred
