Job Summary
Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Hunters Run North Course assists the Golf Course Superintendent in managing and leading the maintenance team to keep the North Course in top playing condition. Responsibilities include scheduling and delegating tasks, training and coaching crew, overseeing turf, plant, shrub, and tree care, ensuring equipment operation and storage, monitoring mowing quality, green speeds, bunker conditions, and soil moisture, maintaining drainage/irrigation systems, developing and implementing a safety program compliant with laws, coordinating with other departments, and attending turf conferences and training to stay current on innovations. Requires a BS/AS in Turf Maintenance or related experience, Florida pesticide license or ability to obtain within 90 days, valid driver’s license, and willingness to work weekends/holidays; Spanish/Creole communication skills are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- BS or Associate degree or certificate in Turf Maintenance or related experience
- Florida Pesticide license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in golf course maintenance with a progressive career track
- Experience with Bermudagrass or warm-season grasses is desirable
- Ability to speak or communicate effectively with a Spanish and/or Creole-speaking staff
- Ability to work a schedule that will include some weekends and holidays
