Job Summary
Assistant Golf Course Superintendent for the North Course at John’s Island Club. Responsible for overall course conditions including turf management, irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide applications; hands-on leadership to develop, train, manage, oversee, coach, and motivate the golf course team; assist in budgeting for maintenance and capital improvements; plan and oversee maintenance, renovations, and projects; coordinate with Golf Operations and attend Green Committee meetings as requested; ensure exemplary playing conditions and adherence to regulations; requires a BS or Associate’s Degree in turf grass management (or related certificate/experience), pesticide applicator license, valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and budgeting experience preferred; on-site role with relocation assistance provided.
Required Qualifications
- BS or Associate’s Degree in turf grass management, or related certificate and experience
- valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator, or ability to acquire a license
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- leadership experience at a golf course with exceptional course conditions
- ability to communicate clearly in English
