Job Summary
Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach at Ames High School: supports the Head Wrestling Coach by instructing athletes in wrestling fundamentals, coaching at individual, small group, and team levels, and attending practices and events. Maintains professional conduct, communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and administration, participates in special events (banquets, award nights, pep assemblies), and adheres to district policies with strict confidentiality. Requires current Iowa coaching authorization; season schedule is 2-3 hours per day (4:00–6:00 pm), Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings/weekends during the season. Compensation: $3,945 season stipend. Also notes emphasis on creating a welcoming environment and punctual attendance.
Required Qualifications
- A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization
- Experience coaching wrestling at the youth, middle school, or high school level preferred
