Job Summary
Assist the head coach in assigned football duties while coaching the Varsity team. Check practice areas daily to remove hazardous objects and provide locker room supervision before and after sessions. Develop a positive public relations program for the school and community, and make equipment purchasing recommendations. Ensure eligibility of participants and manage insurance coverage for team members. Stay current on football rules, South Carolina High School League regulations, and School District policies. Provide medical procedures for athletic injuries and conduct yourself as a role model for students on and off the field.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Teaching Certificate, if applicable
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before administrators, staff, parents and students
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
