Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach (2026-2027)

Job Summary

Assist the head coach in assigned duties related to football and coach the Varsity team. Check all practice areas daily to remove hazardous objects and provide supervision in locker rooms before and after practice. Develop a positive public relations program in the school and community, while making recommendations for equipment purchases. Ensure eligibility of participants and manage insurance coverage, applying knowledge of football rules, South Carolina High School League regulations, and School District policies. Provide the latest medical procedures for athletic injury treatment and conduct yourself as a positive example for students on and off the field. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Teaching Certificate, if applicable
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before administrators, staff, parents and students
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
