Assistant General Manager

Job Summary

Lead housekeeping, maintenance, sales, and front desk operations to maximize financial performance while upholding brand standards. Drive department profitability, manage human resources functions including turnover control and employee development, and conduct regular meetings to ensure team alignment. Assist with strategic business planning, budget forecasting, and P&L critique, while responding promptly to guest requests and complaints. Participate in sales efforts and engage with community leaders, suppliers, and travel industry representatives to build brand awareness. Work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of hospitality industry and business management fields
  • Proficient English language skills (speak, read, write, comprehend)
  • Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office products
  • Knowledge of brand operating systems
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of budget development and analysis
  • Monthly financial analysis capability
  • Knowledge of sales process, client base, and general market knowledge
  • Knowledge of revenue management and ability to forecast business on short-term and long-term basis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to assess/evaluate team member performance in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures available for guidance
  • Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information
  • Ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Consistent attendance in accordance to standards set forth by Converge Hospitality
  • Ability to maintain professional image through action, appearance and dress
  • Ability to operate hotel in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws including OSHA, EEOC, wage and hour, and health code laws

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment (extremely helpful)
  • Knowledge of brand operating systems
