Job Summary
Assistant General Manager for a large-scale, high-volume warehouse distribution center (2nd shift 4:00PM–12:30AM) focused on safety, efficiency, and consistency across shifts. Lead and develop frontline Managers and Supervisors, coach a staff of up to 5 Operations Managers, and drive operational efficiency with a strong emphasis on WMS (experience with Manhattan preferred). Responsible for meeting volume and department efficiency goals, optimizing staffing to workflow demands, implementing best practices, and fostering a positive, collaborative team environment that values diversity. Strong emphasis on training, process improvements, and cross-functional partnerships to ensure customer requirements are met and performance targets are achieved.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of related experience directly reporting to Senior Leadership
- Big-box operational experience
- Experience supervising large, diverse teams of several hundred hourly associates
- Strong WMS experience (Manhattan preferred)
- Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate policies & procedures clearly
- Strong technical skills in Windows/MS Office (Word & Excel)
- A passion for training and empowering operations leaders
- Willingness to tackle exciting new process-improvement projects
