Job Summary
Oversee ice rink operations at the Babson Skating Center, with primary focus on ice maintenance, machinery and equipment handling (including Zamboni operation), and ensuring a safe, well-maintained facility. Responsibilities include hiring, supervising and training part-time staff, coordinating maintenance and inventory, managing vendor relationships, and supporting game management for varsity and special events. Drive continuous improvement through policy development, staff trainings, and certifications; coordinate concessions operations when needed; and work on scheduling and safety initiatives to foster an inclusive, high-performance skating environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of experience in a rink or similar facility
- Experience managing staff
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and iPad
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate by email/phone
- Ability to work late evenings and weekends
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
