Job Summary
Assistant General Manager role at The Abbey Tavern in London, leading front-of-house operations for a high-volume, event-led venue. You’ll lead FOH shifts, coach and develop Duty Managers and bar teams, manage rotas, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance, oversee cash handling, till reconciliation, and stock control. Drive commercial performance through upselling, promotions, and labour/cost control; ensure licensing, health & safety and food hygiene compliance; own guest recovery and support event planning to boost trade. Requires supervisory/management experience in pubs or event-led venues, strong people skills, commercial awareness, calm decision-making under pressure, and availability for evenings, weekends and events. Required Qualifications
- Proven supervisory/management experience in pubs, bars or event-led venues
- Visible, front-of-house leader with excellent people skills
- Commercially minded with basic P&L awareness (sales drivers, labour control)
- Calm under pressure with strong decision-making and problem-solving
- Passion for hospitality and events; available for evenings, weekends and event shifts
- Right to work in the UK
