Job Summary
In this Assistant General Manager role at CAVA, you will partner with the General Manager and Area Leader to oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening/closing procedures, scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting. You will supervise and develop Team Members, ensure adherence to food quality, service, and cleanliness standards, manage cost controls to maintain profitability, and contribute to guest experience improvements and customer satisfaction. The role requires 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to manage financial aspects and food safety practices, and flexibility to work nights and weekends with potential travel. The position emphasizes leadership by example, training and coaching, and supporting the General Manager with reports and action plans to drive restaurant success.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within restaurant or hospitality
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
- Ability to manage financial aspects, including budgeting and cost control
- Knowledge of legal, health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Willing to work flexibly (including at night and on weekends) and to travel as needed
- Completes tasks and projects within established timelines
- Promotes and upholds a culture of inclusivity and respect within the team
- Actively seeks and incorporates feedback from team members to improve performance and operations
- Demonstrates emotional stability and resilience in high-stress situations
