Job Summary
Supervise operating departments including Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering in the absence of the General Manager. Communicate with and correct deficiencies across departments while ensuring adherence to brand standards and safety regulations. Assist with revenue generation programs, sales calls for evening functions, and the creation of financial reports for the Corporate Office. Lead bi-weekly one-on-ones with Department Heads to facilitate employee development and implement corporate training programs. Maintain high standards of personal appearance, ensure compliance with certification requirements, and conduct monthly safe audits. Participate in required M.O.D. coverage and recruiting efforts based on occupancy levels.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years progressive experience in a Rooms or F&B department Hotel
- 4-year college degree and at least 2 to 3 years experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a Hotel
- 2-year college degree and at least 3 to 4 years of experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a Hotel
- Previous supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful high-pressure situations
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Ability to be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
