Job Summary
Act as first-chair attorney for managed portfolio transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing matters. Serve as the primary legal contact for transactions when outside counsel is engaged, overseeing the quality and effectiveness of external legal services. Provide legal guidance on lease interpretation, defaults, tenant disputes, and brokerage-related issues while coordinating with courts, lenders, and internal stakeholders. Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents to identify and mitigate legal risks. Maintain accurate legal records to support company-wide compliance objectives. This role requires a Juris Doctor and an active Michigan license, with a minimum of five years of experience in real estate transactions and leasing.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the State of Michigan
- Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience practicing law

- Concentration in real estate transactions, leasing, financing, acquisitions, and contract negotiation
- Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating real estate agreements and transaction documents
- Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
