Job Summary
In-house Assistant General Counsel providing comprehensive legal support to Sagepoint Energy and affiliates across energy, renewables, logistics, and corporate compliance. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating broad commercial contracts (service, vendor, land/lease, transportation and logistics, energy offtake and supply); advising on energy regulatory matters (RFS, RNG, and related regulations); handling employment-law matters (hiring, wage/hour, policy development, separations); supporting corporate transactions (M&A, JVs) and coordinating with outside counsel; managing outside counsel relationships; identifying legal risks and developing company-wide compliance programs and policies; supporting logistics regulatory matters (DOT, carrier agreements), dispute resolution, and financing documentation; advising on intellectual property and data privacy; staying current with applicable regulatory developments and communicating updates to leadership; and collaborating with leadership to balance legal risk with business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school required.
- Active bar admission in Indiana (or ability to obtain Indiana bar admission) required.
- 3-5 years of legal experience, with a combination of law firm and/or in-house corporate counsel experience preferred.
