Job Summary
Senior legal leader responsible for providing strategic legal guidance and support for natural gas marketing, trading, and commercial operations. Partners with commercial, trading, risk management, and executive teams to structure, negotiate, and execute complex transactions while managing legal and regulatory risk. Requires deep expertise in energy markets and commodity trading, with strong drafting and negotiation skills for gas sales, transportation, storage, and processing contracts. Oversees compliance with federal, state, and regional regulations, supports acquisitions/divestitures, develops contract templates and internal controls, and collaborates across Marketing, Trading, Risk, Finance, Operations, and ESG teams. Serves as trusted advisor to senior leadership and provides guidance on legal, regulatory, and market considerations, including training commercial teams on risks and contract management.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (or eligible for admission)
- Minimum: 8 years of related legal experience with a focus on energy, natural gas marketing, trading, or midstream operations
