Job Summary
Provide subject-matter expert legal advice on financial crimes with a focus on digital assets; advise on AML, KYC/CDD, and anti-corruption for blockchain products and services, including tokenization and cryptocurrency transactions. Design, implement and advise on controls; perform financial crimes due diligence for investments and strategic transactions; monitor regulatory developments impacting the digital asset space; assist in investigations, governance, and policy development; collaborate with business, compliance, technology and control teams to deliver practical solutions aligned with legal requirements. Requires a Juris Doctor and 5+ years of relevant experience, plus at least 1 year in digital assets; strong knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and FCPA; proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree required
- At least 5 years of experience advising on financial crimes matters or related areas
- At least 1 year of experience advising on digital assets
- Strong knowledge of financial crimes laws and regulations (BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FCPA)
- Ability to apply legal and regulatory requirements to complex fact patterns and deliver practical guidance
- Understanding of banking and brokerage products, services and transactions; experience with emerging technology initiatives
- Experience navigating investigations, litigation and/or regulatory matters
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated creativity, sound judgment and solutions-oriented problem solving
