Job Summary
The Assistant General Counsel supports the Sr. VP Chief Legal Officer in protecting the organization’s interests and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across system-wide biomedical research, clinical trials, grants, institutional compliance, and governance. Partners with multidisciplinary teams to advise stakeholders on regulatory matters, including data privacy (GDPR and US privacy laws), clinical agreements, and healthcare law, while ensuring adherence to ethical standards and applicable laws. Requires JD, Texas bar in good standing, and 5+ years of healthcare/corporate legal experience. This role is based in Fort Worth, TX and involves collaboration with the System’s legal team to guide regulatory compliance and governance across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- License to practice law in the State of Texas in good standing
- 5+ years of legal experience in a corporate or healthcare environment
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical agreements, data privacy (GDPR and US privacy laws), commercial contracts/legal operations, healthcare law, and regulatory compliance
