Job Summary
Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and training while promoting the Pursuing Victory with Honor Program and maintaining discipline. Assist the Head Coach in ensuring venue safety, equipment regulation, and inventory management. Coordinate supervision of student-athletes across play, locker rooms, and other venues. Maintain open communication with faculty, staff, and parents; advise student-athletes on academics; and assist with college recruiting and scholarship applications. Serve as a mentor and campus minister to foster Catholic school culture. Perform other job-related tasks as requested by the principal or athletic director. Requires good physical condition, ability to work under pressure, and willingness to work evening and weekend hours.

- Must demonstrate an appropriate sense of humor
- Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of good teaching techniques and child psychology
- Must maintain appropriate grooming and dress as stated in the faculty handbook
- Requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must have initiative, creativity, problem solving skills, good judgment in handling different personalities and emerging situations
- Must have the ability to actively listen in assessing individual students, teacher, and program needs
- Must be proficient in good communication skills with both children and adults
- Must maintain a positive attitude in normal and crisis situations
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to delegate
- Must be able to stand for periods of time outside in the heat and cold
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be certified by the Arizona State Department of Education or AIA as a coach and meets applicable NCA requirements
- Must meet Diocese of Phoenix requirements for employment
- Must have received Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Conduct
- Must have completed FBI Fingerprint clearance
- Must have a current Arizona State driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Preference given to Catholic teacher
- Having a current Arizona State driver's license is desirable
