Provide leadership and assist the principal in selecting, assigning, and evaluating athletic coaches and staff. Foster school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program. Ensure the health and safety of student athletes by following proper safety and first aid procedures, verifying valid physical examinations, and adhering to all emergency protocols. Promote positive relationships with parents and athletes by conducting pre-season meetings and ensuring compliance with South Carolina High School League and district rules. Maintain appropriate behavior for all coaching staff, players, and team personnel while attending scheduled meetings and clinics. Sustain the sports program through sponsorships of fundraisers, youth camps, and team camps.
