Job Summary
Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of food service operations in a long-term care setting to provide high-quality, nutritious meals while adhering to food safety regulations and dietary guidelines. Responsibilities include completing resident nutritional assessments (quarterly assessments, MDS, RAPs where implemented, QIs), coordinating involvement of residents and/or families in determining appropriate nutritional care needs, visiting residents during mealtimes to monitor acceptability of food, ensuring meal service procedures meet required standards, and supporting quality improvement audits. Requires a Diploma in Food and Nutrition Management, active CSNM membership or RD status, Safe Food Handling certification, and 2–3 years of leading experience in long-term care; healthcare/retirement setting experience and staff-training experience are preferred. Salary range provided is per hour with Canadian hire context; position is part-time with location in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Food and Nutrition Management from a recognized program
- Active Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a Registered Dietitian
- Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of leading experience in a long-term care facility
- Experience in Healthcare or Retirement setting is preferred
- Experience training and supervising front line staff
