Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

Job Summary
Supervise, direct, and train banquet personnel including servers, bartenders, and concessionaires while ensuring proper event room setup according to diagrams. Coordinate equipment rentals, beverages, and linen arrangements to execute all banquet functions and manage labor, beverage, and ancillary costs against established budgets. Monitor client needs throughout events to ensure satisfaction, communicate changes to culinary and sales departments, and oversee concession services including staffing, menu selection, and register programming. Assist in hiring, disciplining, and terminating part-time staff in accordance with company policies and maintain payroll for direct reports. Manage cash room needs for food and beverage events and communicate with the Finance Department. This role reports to the Food & Beverage Manager at Legends Global Knoxville, a leading venue management company with over 350 global venues.
Required Qualifications
- College degree and/or equivalent work experience in a comparable facility or related field
- Attention to detail
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- ServSafe Certified or be able to obtain certification within 90 days
- TABC card or be able to obtain it within 90 days
- Ability to pass and maintain PCI compliance
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Considerable skill in the use of personal computers
- Knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized accounting systems
- Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
