Job Summary
Assistant Finance Officer responsible for the daily organization, management and supervision of school finance tasks for the Nash County Public Schools. Oversees accounts payable processing and Federal Budgets, prepares monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports, provides accounts payable training and procedures, maintains the finance website, conducts financial reviews and audits, ensures compliance with state/federal regulations, and supports budgeting and reporting activities. Requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, government funds, payroll/software for budgeting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; includes supervisory duties and regular interactions with school and central office staff.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five years of experience and supervisory experience preferred
- Must pass an alcohol and drug test as per DOT, FHWA and local board regulations
