Job Summary
As Assistant Field Hockey Coach, collaborate with the head coach to manage and direct the program, assume head coach duties in their absence, plan and coach practice sessions and games, teach advanced-level skills and strategies, mentor student-athletes, monitor academic progress, and recruit prospective players. Develop program initiatives with campus departments, assist in scouting and evaluating opponents, coordinate recruiting trips, maintain compliance with NCAA/NEWMAC/Babson rules, foster an inclusive environment, and support ET&A initiatives. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years coaching experience, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, OSHA-compliant vaccination, strong communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel including overnight trips. The role involves regular physical exertion, working days/evenings/weekends, and driving responsibilities with a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years of coaching experience
- Hepatitis B vaccination and OSHA-compliant training
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Strong communication skills
- Compliance with NCAA, NEWMAC, and Babson College rules
- Commitment to inclusion and belonging
- Ability to adapt to changes and work in varied schedules
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
