Job Summary
Support the farm manager as second in charge by overseeing herd management, nutrition, calving, hospital herd care, and AI/mating planning. Manage irrigation and pasture operations while supervising staff, operating machinery, and handling repairs and maintenance. Uphold animal health and safe operating procedures across the 451ha dairy farm milking 1060 cows. This role offers a maximum average of 50 work hours per week with a variable roster including 4 days off every fortnight. A minimum annual salary of $81k is provided for a 50-hour contract. Required Qualifications
- Candidates without full long term Australian working rights will not be considered for this role
- Extensive dairy industry experience is required for this management role
- Must be available for a variable roster with 4 days off every fortnight
- Must be able to drive
- Must be able to operate machinery
- Must be able to perform repairs and maintenance
- Must be able to supervise staff
- Must be able to manage herd nutrition including calving, hospital herd care, and AI/mating planning
- Must be able to manage irrigation and pasture
- Must be able to uphold Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures
- Must be able to work a maximum average of 50 work hours per week
- Must be able to work in a location 20 minutes from Mt Gambier in Southeast South Australia
