Assistant Event Marketing Manager

Job Summary
Develop and drive event-based marketing initiatives to generate sales leads for sales representative follow-up. Identify, schedule, and plan the event calendar for a team of event marketers in the assigned territory, managing budgets, resource planning, and successful event execution. Recruit, hire, train, and develop Event Marketers while creating accountability through established goals and KPIs. Attend trade shows, home shows, fairs, and festivals to manage the team in generating new leads, assist in distributing marketing materials, and oversee equipment set up and tear down. Collaborate with local Sales Operations and Installation Managers to grow brand presence, track event metrics to evaluate performance and ROI, and exceed sales lead quotas. Travel within the assigned territory as needed, with 25%-50% domestic travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience within event marketing or a related field
- Experience in lead generation and/or experiential marketing
- Experience with limited/single market budgeting and planning in multiple markets
- Knowledge of current best practices and new strategies for event marketing
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and pre-scheduled events
- Experience recruiting, onboarding, and training marketing and show staff
- Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without 'dropping the ball'
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a 'roll up your sleeves' and 'win every day' mentality
- Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals
- Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately
- Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection
- Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation to/from job site to perform job duties
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
- 25%-50% domestic travel required
- Additional hours may be required (exempt positions)
- Normal office environment and field office/manufacturing/construction environment
- Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment and performs work outside in varying temperatures and climates
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Desired Qualifications
- Previous management position in direct-to-consumer marketing
- Experience in home improvement event marketing
