Job Summary
Review statutory and non-statutory environmental monitoring reports and submissions prepared by third parties. Carry out construction site inspections to verify environmental control measures and conduct site audits of third-party monitoring works. Attend site safety and environmental management committee meetings to present observations to supervisors, contractors, and client representatives. Undertake environmental impact studies, due diligence, compliance reviews, and site assessments while collecting, interpreting data, and preparing project deliverables. Produce studies on environmental aspects and sustainability, including research to support green building standards. Manage projects through client and team liaison. This Assistant Environmental Consultant role is based in Hong Kong within Ramboll's Asia Pacific Environmental and Health Business Unit.
Required Qualifications
- A holder of a relevant science or engineering degree
- 1-year relevant experience in Hong Kong and/or Asia Pacific Region for consultancy work in relevant disciplines including but not limit to environmental, sustainable buildings or land contamination
- Good command of English and Chinese
- Ability to work independently and effectively
- Good analytical and communication skills
- Ability to strongly coordinate across all levels of organisation (internal and external)
Desired Qualifications
- Holder of valid construction industry safety training certificate (Green Card)
- Knowledge of the construction site safety, and occupational health and safety
- Understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance framework and site implementation
- A member of the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics, or Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment, Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management and/or Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professional
