Job Summary
The Assistant Engineering Manager will support Engineering Managers in overseeing rail construction projects across various engineering disciplines, ensuring coordination and alignment with project schedules. Responsibilities include managing engineering activities through status reports, maintaining tracking logs, attending project meetings, identifying scheduling conflicts, preparing survey reports, and providing guidance to engineering staff. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field, experience in managing construction projects, familiarity with CAD software, and proficiency in project management tools. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with a willingness to travel and work on construction sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple construction projects simultaneously
- Familiar with CAD software such Bentley/MicroStation, REVIT, SolidWorks, or similar platforms
- Efficient in using project management and design workflow tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Highly organized with strong time management capabilities
- Willingness to travel across New York City’s five boroughs for project meetings and fieldwork
- Physically able to navigate construction sites (standing, climbing, stooping, crouching)
- Willingness to work outdoors and conduct field surveys
- Comfortable in all weather conditions and high-noise environments
