Assistant Engineer

Assist in roadway design engineering tasks within the Transportation Department, performing analysis, designs, and calculations for roadway systems and related transportation structures; help with layout and drawings with design team members; prepare technical specifications; participate in proposal and report writing; and support other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months, and 0-5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office, with strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to learn, grow, and be mentored in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment. This is an hourly, non-exempt, staff position with base pay ranging from $31.75 to $42.00 per hour, with location-based considerations.
