Job Summary
Assistant Engineer I will support the implementation of all water supply related program activities for the NYS Department of Health Oneonta District Office, work with operators of regulated public water supplies, respond to public water supply emergencies and waterborne outbreaks, contribute to plan reviews for water supplies, wastewater disposal systems, beaches, pools, campgrounds and subdivisions, conduct routine water supply inspections, review and evaluate monthly water system data and test results, and travel approximately 20% of the time. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders and across agencies, requiring communication skills and familiarity with drinking water regulations. hybrid work schedule; must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the official work location; visa sponsorship not available; travel up to 25% (as stated in conditions).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Engineering Science
- AND proof of passing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination
