Assistant Engineer

Job Summary
Assist in preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems; diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions; learn to operate and monitor building systems including boilers, chillers, pumps, and controls; adhere to safety protocols and comply with governing codes; maintain accurate maintenance records and assist in generating reports; collaborate with engineering and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address facility issues promptly; demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork while continuously expanding responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of vocational or technical training in engineering or related field preferred
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
