Job Summary
Screen new manuscript submissions for scope, scientific quality, and originality, then make initial editorial decisions with clear rationales. Identify and escalate ethical concerns, select peer reviewers, and evaluate reports to determine accept, reject, revise, or refer outcomes. Assess revised manuscripts and author responses, recommend alternative journals, and commission articles, special issues, and invited content aligned with journal strategy. Track invited content pipelines, manage contributor communications, and analyze editorial performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Collaborate with senior editors to share knowledge and participate in training for editorial systems and workflows. This role supports the integrity and growth of Wiley's journal portfolio including Advanced Science, Angewandte Chemie, and Small.
Required Qualifications
- MSc, PhD or equivalent advanced degree
- MSc, PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant academic discipline
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on clinical experience as a nurse preferred
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas of Nursing subject‐matter expertise: Nursing Practice, Nursing Care, Clinical Nursing, Nursing Education, Patient-Centered Care, Advanced Practice Nursing, Evidence-based Practice (EBP), Advanced Clinical Practice, Public Health, Health Sciences, Psychology, Healthcare Policy, Community Health, or related areas
- Experience with scholarly publishing or peer review as an author, reviewer, or editor
- International research experience outside the candidate's home country is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, decision‐making, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with global stakeholders
- Demonstrated interest in science communication and continuous learning
