Job Summary
Assist funeral operations with administrative and client-facing duties: meeting the public, providing information on funeral and cremation options, answering phones, assisting at funeral, memorial, and other services, and supporting staff meetings. Prepare for services (flowers, chairs, caskets, urns, keepsakes), prepare documents for services/cremations, assist with respectful preparation of remains, perform office duties (phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone system, payment devices), run errands, serve as usher or transportation support, drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups, ensure refreshments where allowed, accommodate family needs during services/visits, and greet families entering the office. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, customer-service experience preferred, MS Office and databases preferred, valid driver’s license with clean record, strong communication and compassion, ability to work evenings/weekends, and physical ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and push/pull up to 90 kg (200 lbs). background in funeral/home operations and bilingual (French/English) communication are relevant.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid provincial driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience in customer service or sales preferred
- Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn
