Job Summary
Direct the planning, preparations, and coaching activities of the Dive program from the middle school level to the high school. Plan, schedule, and conduct regular practice and competition programs in accordance with school and district rules. Assist the Athletic Director in distributing and collecting required physical forms and submit transportation requests. Oversee facility safety and maintain accurate equipment inventory while supervising student welfare before, during, and after practices and contests. Establish rapport with athletes, staff, parents, and media. Recommend equipment purchases and attend scheduled NMAA and District meetings. Submit requests for transportation forms to the Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications
- Successful experience as either a head or assistant coach
- Successful experience as a player or coach at the college level
- NFHS Fundamental of Coaching Course
- NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches Course
- Heat Illness
- Bullying/Hazing, and Inappropriate Behaviors
- Protecting Students from Abuse
- CPR and AED Course
- Concussion in Sports
- Cheer and Dance Safety Certification (Cheer Coaches only)
- NMPED 501 Initial Support Provider Coach
- Must be able to work in a variety of environments
- Must be able to withstand varying levels of temperature and noise levels
- Must be able to lift or move 25lbs
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in coaching basketball at the high school level
