Job Summary
Screen new arrests and draft accusatory instruments in the RCDA complaint room. Prosecute misdemeanor cases including DWI, assault, drug offenses, and weapons possession. Represent the District Attorney at arraignments, calendar calls, misdemeanor hearings, and trials. Participate in ongoing training in criminal law, criminal procedure, and trial advocacy. This role operates under the general supervision of the Chief of Criminal Court Bureau within the Richmond County District Attorney's Office.
Required Qualifications
- Admitted attorney
- Law graduate who has passed the New York State Bar and is awaiting admission
- Approaching their last year of law school and preparing to take the New York State Bar Examination
- New York State resident
- Authorization to work in the United States
