Job Summary
Assistant Director of Teaching & Learning leads equitable early childhood and multilingual education programming, designs and implements innovative curriculum and services, advances systems-level improvement to reduce disproportionality and gaps, builds partnerships with families and community partners, supports educators with developmentally appropriate and linguistically sustaining practices, ensures compliance with federal/state requirements, and guides resource management, staffing, and program evaluation to ensure access to high-quality learning for all students. Requires strong leadership, problem solving, collaboration, knowledge of child development and multilingual language acquisition, and the ability to translate district priorities into actionable programs and supports.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or related field.
- Current Washington State Principal Certificate and/or Professional Administrator certificate.
- Five or more years of teaching and/or administrative experience at the elementary level, experience in culturally and economically complex communities preferred.
- Early Childhood Education and/or Multilingual Language Learner teaching experience preferred.
- Administrative and/or supervisory experience in Special Education or other federal or state-funded categorical programs preferred.
- Valid Washington State Drivers License; WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance
