Job Summary
Assistant Director of Sports Information at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor overseeing assigned areas of the Sports Information office, serving as primary media contact for athletics programs, maintaining official stats/records, and representing UMHB athletics in coordination with ASC and NCAA policies. Responsibilities include fostering professional relationships with media outlets, student media, and UMHB departments; demonstrating ambassadorial presence for athletic programs; supporting athletics with enthusiasm; and managing communications, publications, and records. Evening and weekend hours are frequently required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, broadcasting, sports management, or related field is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience in an intercollegiate Sports Information setting is preferred.
- Experience in web site maintenance/design is preferred.
- Must possess a current and valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under UMHB auto coverage.
