Assistant Director, Rural Medicine

Job Summary
Provide operational leadership for the Kingsville Rural Campus and assist in developing future rural campus locations. Develop operational goals, priorities, and performance measures while representing Rural Medicine on University committees and with external stakeholders. Oversee daily campus program operations, including curriculum delivery, clerkships, student assessments, and scheduling. Directly supervise Rural Campus Coordinators, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Serve as the primary liaison for hospitals, clinics, and community organizations to build partnerships and identify new clinical education sites. Manage operational budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with LCME accreditation standards and grant requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration, medical education, healthcare administration, program management, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to personnel in a supervisory capacity
- Experience working within a medical education setting
- Knowledge of LCME accreditation standards, processes, and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience assisting with budget tracking, procurement processes, and expense monitoring
- Experience working in higher education, academic medicine, or health-related programs
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
