Job Summary
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Recruitment Office, supervising a team of full-time and part-time staff to execute an innovative recruitment plan that yields diverse students for certificate and degree programs. Develop, coordinate, and implement various events, activities, and presentations including fairs, campus visits, and tours to recruit new first-time, transfer, and returning students. Actively participate in on-campus and off-campus events during evening and weekend hours to forge relationships with prospective students, counsel applicants regarding degree offerings, and represent the department at community events. Serve as the functional lead for the CRM, overseeing communication plans, campaigns, reporting, workflow management, and data integrity to support enrollment goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 4 years of higher education recruitment or admissions professional experience
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license
- Familiarity with CRM and student record systems and their functions within in academic environment
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in student outreach, college access, student development theory, and community organization
- Demonstrate experience engaging people of different cultures, academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds, with special attention to recruitment of underserved populations
- Experience working with community, public and private agencies
- Experience affecting policy change for removing barriers to college access
- Demonstrated experience engaging the greater community in developing youth leadership development initiatives and providing visible and strategic leadership to existing organizations
- Experience working collaboratively with all constituents including faculty
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience developing measurable outcomes and assessment strategies to formulate data-informed decisions
- Knowledge of community engagement principles to ensure the inclusion of political, faith based, and community-based organization in the process of developing a college-going and college-success culture
- Ability to promote, implement, and continuously improve best practices in outreach services
- Experience in multi-project organizational management (personnel, operations, fiscal resources)
- Ability to develop partnerships with key community stakeholders, local high school and district personnel
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Appreciation for the mission and demonstrated experience in an urban community college
- Ability to analyze enrollment data and recruitment metrics to support strategic planning and continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited college/university
- Experience working in a community college setting
- Bilingualism
- Experience with Peoplesoft
